attempt #3. adding a YouTube video clip.

1) copying a short link below the You Tube screen area.

2) managed to find “embed video” button –>the pop-up (or what do they call it) window offers  the only option: Width of embedded video 400 pixels, Height of embedded video 225 pixels.

Unfortunately I have no idea what the outcome is going to be like in that case. All I want to see is a relatively large screen area, not an interactive icon. I am free to manually change the settings, but…

OK, I decided to make no changes and see what happens…

one, two, three…

All I can see now is a code. Wow, there is an eye-shaped icon in the top left-hand corner. It must be a preview option… Is it?   Yes, it IS!

–>publish now – I made it! 🙂 unbelieveble! 🙂

test #2. an attempt to add an image to the post

1) clicking on media manager… now, an attempt to upload a *.jpeg file.

… oops! failure….

2) the first problem:  vivaldi’s media manager informs me that *.jpeg files are not on the list of allowed file types.

ok,  it means I’ll have to convert the image to, say, *.png.

running  PhotoScape Editor…  ready… steady… go!

3) conversion is over. well, well, ready for the second attempt…

i’ve done it!

happily the file size does not exceed 2Mb, othervise..

So, the procedure of uploading images and inserting them into the posts seems to be much less user-friendly than it was in “My Opera” blogs, the platform from which a number of new users have migrated here. Anyway,  vivaldi still seems to be a promissing solution for the “refugees from My Opera”. 🙂

test: trying to insert an external slide show

This is my first blog post here. I am just going to evaluate the applicability of this platform in terms of usability.  🙂
